My path into the mortgage industry wasn't traditional.

Before becoming a loan officer, I spent more than 10 years in the oilfield working as a diesel technician and manager throughout North Dakota, Wyoming, and Texas. The oilfield taught me the value of hard work, problem solving, accountability, and doing what it takes to get the job done. It also came with long hours, time away from home, and missed moments with my family.

Like many people, COVID changed everything. While purchasing a home, I built a relationship with the loan officer who helped me through the process. He saw something in me and introduced me to the mortgage industry as a potential career path. At first, I knew very little about mortgages, but the more I learned, the more I realized this was an opportunity to build a career where I could make a real impact on people's lives while creating a better future for my family.

In 2022, I made the leap into the mortgage business. One of the first things my mentor told me was, "Burn the ships." The idea was simple: no backup plan, no turning around, no going back. I was committed to making this work no matter what it took — and that mindset shapes how I approach my business every day.

I love helping people achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. Whether it's a first-time homebuyer purchasing their very first home, a veteran utilizing their VA benefits, a growing family upgrading into their forever home, or a self-employed borrower finding a solution when others have told them no, I genuinely enjoy helping people navigate one of the biggest financial decisions of their lives.

What I enjoy most about this career is the opportunity to serve others while being present for my own family. Today, I get to help clients achieve their goals while being there for the moments that matter most with my wife and children — something that wasn't always possible during my years in the oilfield.
